I haven’t really had 49 Epiphanies, I just like giving things a made up number. And you may think this post is silly, but being silly is good for you.

A few days ago, I was pondering how to juggle all my tasks and chores and projects, and thinking (again) that there are not enough hours in the day. I can’t make more time, so I need to prioritize, but sadly (I thought) that means doing the ‘Have To’ list and not so much the ‘Want To’ list.

Then this thought came to me, “It is a privilege to be alive.”

I laughed out loud. What a wonderful epiphany! It doesn’t matter what I choose or prioritize, I just need to enjoy my life. 

Today, the October sun pours in the window and warms me, and I feel honored to have a life.

Having a life is better than receiving a medal, or winning a Nobel prize, or getting your novel published. Most amazingly, one could conceivably do all those things too. There are so many possibilities when one is alive. Let’s celebrate it!
